As I wrap up my first week in Bali, much like other places, I see two distinct worlds.

The first is a “spiritual eden” where people from all over the world come to find whatever it is they are looking for and it takes the form of all kinds of eastern therapy.  If it works for people I applaud it.  But, this paradise is but a small part of the island.

If one never ventured outside these small areas, they would not see the other Bali which to me is a stark contrast.  The people are very poor.  There is trash everywhere, and what isn’t thrown on the ground, is burned. There is rice field after rice field.  Wild dogs, albeit friendly, roam the streets in packs of 5-6.

I am not judging one Bali over the other Bali.  The people are seemingly always smiling.  But both Parts of Bali exist and I think that it is important to acknowledge that fact.

More to come on this journey.

I connect people to the truth of market places and human behavior and I have a little fun with it.  I am currently traveling the world writing my second book and blogging about my experience. I look forward to getting to know you and encourage you to post your feedback in the comment section of this blog.
